American Cash Flow Internet Chapter

As an affiliate chapter of the American Cash Flow Association the ACF iChapter has adopted the following Code of Ethics for the ACF iChapter and its members.

Code of Ethics for the
American Cash Flow Internet Chapter
(ACF iChapter)

The American Cash Flow Association promotes professional standards and provides a forum for communication leading to success in the cash flow industry. The Chapters are organized to recognize the profession of consulting in the cash flow industry, to educate the public on the use of consultants and to establish a Code of Ethics by which the Chapter and members shall abide.

The purpose of the Code of Ethics is to give general statements of the principles of ethical conduct in order that the members of the American Cash Flow Association and its Chapters may fulfill their duty to the Chapter, the American Cash Flow Association, the cash flow industry and to the public.

The American Cash Flow Association has unanimously approved the Code of Ethics for ACFA members. It is a simple, straightforward statement of business ethics principles. The Code of Ethics does not include any formal enforcement mechanism, and ACFA hopes that members will choose to comply with its provisions voluntarily. The American Cash Flow Association may take action in cases involving clear and serious violations of the Code of Ethics.

Members of the American Cash Flow Internet Chapter (ACF iChapter) shall:

Keep themselves informed and educated on matters affecting the cash flow industry in order to contribute responsibly to the public image of the industry as a whole. In the best interest of society, associates and clients, associates should willingly share the lessons of experience and study for the benefit of others;

Endeavor always to be informed regarding laws, proposed legislation, government regulations, public policies and current market conditions;

Guard against fraud, misrepresentation and unethical practices. Those operating in the industry shall endeavor to eliminate any practices which could be damaging to the public or bring discredit to the profession;

Act with integrity toward all parties, maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest but, where such conflicts arise, fully disclose the circumstances of the conflict without delay;

Seek no unfair advantage over others and conduct business so as to avoid controversies. Do not engage in any practice or take any action inappropriately inconsistent with the industry norm or in violation of a contractual relationship;

Never disparage the business practices of a competitor nor volunteer an opinion as to a competitor’s practices or conduct. Any opinions sought should be rendered with the utmost of professional integrity and courtesy;

Pledge to protect and promote the interests of clients and oblige to treat fairly all parties, including funding sources, payors and other professionals;

Never deny equal professional services to any person because of race, color, religion, gender, disability, familial status, or national origin. Members shall not be parties to any plan or agreement to so discriminate against a person or persons;

Avoid exaggeration, misrepresentation, or concealment of pertinent facts and be ever mindful of the obligation to discover adverse factors that a reasonably competent and diligent investigation would disclose;

Provide a level of competent service in keeping with the standards of practice in the respective area of the cash flow industry in which the member operates. Do not undertake to provide specialized services that are outside your field of competence unless assistance is engaged from one who is competent to handle the transaction;

Uphold the principle of appropriate and adequate compensation for the performance of work. Members shall not accept compensation from more than one party, even if permitted by law, without disclosure to and the informed consent of all parties;

Document all financial obligations and commitments regarding transactions in writing, expressing the exact agreement of the parties, for the protection of all parties. A copy shall be furnished to each party upon signing;

Avoid activities that constitute the unauthorized practice of lending, law, or other practice for which a license is required unless such license has been obtained;

Recommend that legal or other professional counsel be obtained when the interest of any party to a transaction requires it; and

Remain careful at all times to present accuracy in advertising and representation to the public.

Chapter Officials of the American Cash Flow Internet Chapter (ACF iChapter) shall:

At all times, comply with both the letter and the spirit of all relevant laws and policies;

Endeavor to be independent and impartial in your judgments and actions;

Work for the industry and public good, not just for personal gain;

Comply with the Bylaws and Code of Ethics of the American Cash Flow Association; and
