American Cash Flow Internet Chapter

Before you move on to the subscription page please read this entire page.

Here you will find some of the rules, guidelines, and etiquette that will make using the ACF iChapter Discussion List a more enjoyable experience for everyone. And by subscribing and thereby becoming a member of this group, you accept these rules and guidelines and agree to adhere to them.

Please participate freely. This is the only way you and others will benefit from this list.

We welcome spirited discussions and debates. But, please avoid personal attacks and keep the language clean. There is a world of difference between saying "I don't think that is a good idea and here's why" and saying "That's an idiotic idea and you're an idiot for bringing it up."

Important Notice: We do not permit any commercial messages, advertising, or self-promotion in any form on this forum. No if's and but's, and no exceptions. Ignoring this and asking for forgiveness instead of for permisssion will not work either. By being a member of this group and by actively participating on this forum, you agree to refrain from advertising and self-promotion on the discussion list. If you choose to violate this agreement you will be excluded from this group and "dis-membered" immediately without further warning.

We also do not endorse or guarantee any product or service offered by anyone on this discussion list. Before accepting any service or product that may be offered on this forum as an answer to a specific question, we strongly recommend that you always do your own due diligence and also find proof of positive experiences with this particular service or product and its provider.

Please post only in plain text, not HTML. HTML posts take longer to down load for those members with a dial-up connection to the internet. HTML emails can hide destructive code and links, such as a virus or worm or an email tracking code.

In addition, some members of the list, purposely use an email reader that does not render HTML so as to avoid those dangers. Stationery and fancy fonts are not needed to communicate effectively in this group.

If you need to know how to change the HTML default behavior in your mail program look in the preferences or options area of your email program to see how to change sending email from HTML to TEXT. There may be a pull-down menu item, such as under Format in Outlook Express, where you can toggle between HTML & TEXT on a message by message basis. If necessary, check the help file, use one of the internet search engines to find instructions or ask someone for help.

Do not send attachments to the group and, whatever you do, do not open any attachments you receive in messages from this group. You will only expose yourself to the risks of infecting your computer with a serious virus. Instead of sending an attachment you should post a link to the item. Members can choose to access it that way, if they wish.

Please respect other people's intellectual properties and copyrights. If you find an article that might be of interest to members of the group please don't copy the entire article. Instead post a link to the article.

When the subject of a discussion changes be sure to change the subject line of your email so other members will know what is being discussed in any given thread. If you start a new topic, don't just use the last message's subject. Change it to something meaningful.

If you want your message read by as many people as possible make your subject line as specific as you can. Subject lines like "Help" or "Why?" won't get you much help or many questions answered.

A short specific title like "Need small factor" or "How can I get government vendor list?" will generate a lot more readers and replies.

If you have several unrelated questions, put them in separate messages. It will be easier to choose a good subject line for each question. Members who might have an answer for you will find the question more easily and it will create a discussion thread for that specific topic.

However, if you have several closely related questions on the same topic then you should include them in the same message. In this case the answer to one question may be dependent on another question in the message.

Trim, trim, trim. When you are replying to a post, please quote only the relevant parts of the message you are replying to. Be sure to leave in enough so that someone reading your message understands what you are responding to, but it is rare to need 30 lines of the previous post to understand the context of your one line reply. Also please trim any tag lines and long signature blocks of the previous message. The unsubscribe and archive link reminders should be removed automatically by your email program. If they are not, please delete them as they will automatically be added to your email when it's sent to the other members.

After you sign up you will be given a link to the ACF iChapter Discussion List Archives. Please take a little time to review the previous messages posted there. You may find that many of your questions have been answered already. But don't be afraid to ask for more information or clarification of your question. We have new members joining all the time and someone may have new or additional information about an old question.

You must post to the discussion list using the email address that you use to sign up with. Posts from any other email address will be rejected. The list is set up so that only members can post. This is to reduce the possibility of spam and other related problems.

Address your messages for the discussion list to: list@acfichapter.com

If you have any questions or comments about the list that should not be sent to all the other participants then please send an email to listmaster@acfichapter.com .

If you should ever want to leave the list, go to www.acfichapter.com/unsubscribe.htm and follow the directions. Do not post an unsubscribe message to the list. That message will only go to all the other members. It won't help get you unsubscribed.

Jump in, participate and have fun. We're all here to help each other.
